Experimenting with the Evolving Relationship between Choreography and Lighting
This work was created and presented as part of “SandD LAB. 2026:
Creating Dialogue – Motion
and Light”
(organized by SandD; hosted by SandD
and Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse No.1).
Based on a dialogue between choreographer and lighting designer, the piece was developed
over a five-day creation period and presented as a work-in-progress showing.
Starting from the visual concept of a “line,” the piece evolved through the integration of
ideas from the stage lighting designer, expanding into “line → shape → structured form.”
Through this process, the work explores the shifting relationship between the dancers’
bodies and stage lighting.
