"The nail that sticks out gets hammered down"
Inspired by the theme of “information,” the work draws on the overwhelming flow of data, customs, and social patterns that permeate contemporary Japanese society.

The work is based on various “virtues” and “everyday customs” that have been unconsciously ingrained in us Japanese people, and explores these ideas through dance—overlapping the insular environment of Japan, an island nation, with the image of dancing within a confined space of stakes.
