Translating Social Phenomena During the Pandemic into Dance
In-person dance creation—where artists work closely together in confined spaces—and stage performances experienced by large audiences in enclosed theaters were perhaps among the least compatible art forms with the world under COVID-19.
This piece was inspired by the sense of helplessness that lingered throughout those pandemic
days.
Motifs such as the constant restrictions and prohibitions, the widening gaps in perception
and values, and the quiet indolence of the seemingly endless “stay-at-home” time were
transformed into a short dance work.
